Borrowing Materials.
1. Bring the books you want to borrow with the valid CYCU Library Cards (e.g., Student's CYCU Registration Card, CYCU Employee Card , CYCU Alumni Card or CYCU Library Privilege Card) to check out at the circulation desk.
2. Loan Periods are various and in accordance with borrowing privileges.
   
Returning Materials.
You can return borrowed items at the circulation desk in the CYCU library when the library is opened. When the circulation desk is closed, you can return them by using the return box provided at the right hand side of the Library Main Entrance.
   
Renewals.
You can do the renewals via:
1. In person at circulation desk.
2. Online: http://cylis.lib.cycu.edu.tw/patroninfo/ view your own library record then choose which item you want to renew.
3. Telephone: (03)2652833
 
Renewal will not be accepted under the following circumstances:
The item is overdue.
The item is placed hold for others.
The item has been renewed too many times by you.
The item is recalled for course reverse.
There are some fines unpaid.
   
Holds.
Users, who need materials that are currently checked out by another patron, on hold shelf, in cataloging, or in process, can place a hold for these materials. Once the materials are available, the requesting user will be notified and the materials will be held for 7 days after which it will be re-shelved or circulated to the next waiting user. Therefore, the requesting user has 7 days to claim the materials requested. You can place a max hold for 5 items.
 
Hold will not be accepted under the following circumstances:
The status of the item is available.
The item is on order or canceling order.
The item is for in-library use only.
There are some fines unpaid.
   
Overdue & Fines.
Fines are charged for every overdue book at the rate of NT$5 a day and with 3 graceful days. Until the bill is paid, you may not be allowed to place a hold, renew, or borrow any item.
 
Lost or Damaged Materials.
Borrowers who lose a book will be charged with the cost of the book or any other applicable fines. Until the bill is paid, you may not be allowed to place a hold, renew, or borrow any item.
 
Lost Cards.
All borrowers are responsible for materials checked out on their cards.
To prevent unauthorized use, theft or loss of an CYCU ID or Library Card must be reported immediately by calling the circulation desk at (03)2652833.
 
View your own library records.
You can view your own library records at the Library Catalog System (http://cylis.lib.cycu.edu.tw/patroninfo/) or the first time you view your library record, the system will request you to fill in your Personal Identification Number (PIN). The PIN should also be filled in every time thereafter.
 
Notices.
The library sends all kinds of circulation notices via e-mail (CYCU patrons are defaulted to the campus e-mail address). All current Library patrons are eligible for this service.
 
Some new patrons may not yet have e-mail addresses in their library records. If so, you may do the following to fill in your e-mail address for the first time or change to a new one:
1. Update online:
  (1) View your own library records online first.
  (2) Then click Modify Personal Information to update your e-mail address.
2. Contact Circulation Desk in person with your CYCU ID.
 
If in some casee patrons do not name e-mail addressee in the library records, the printed circulation notice will be sent to patrons' department instead.
